Zarna Chainani, Global Program Director - eTraining, is someone who enjoys an innovative environment. For Zarna, change means both challenge and opportunity – less something to fear, and more something to embrace.
Zarna is currently responsible for developing our new, greatly enhanced “Knowledge Live” experience. This will allow Markets trainers to connect directly to clients worldwide, one-to-one or one-to-many... anytime…anywhere. She’s helping to improve the “Live” experience by integrating exciting new on-demand components like video and “try-it” simulations.
"We’ll be using best-of-breed technology to give our clients the training they want, when they want it, how they want to receive it." In her time with Thomson Reuters, Zarna has moved from face to face training to telephone-based training to her current managerial role.
"I’ve been fortunate to get the freedom to innovate and be creative in my role. I enjoy that. It hasn’t always been easy, though. Uncertainty affects motivation. When it comes to managing change, I try to remain persistent and not to dismiss new ideas or ways of working until I’ve tried them. Then, when things go well, you get real satisfaction out of having prevailed. It really builds your morale."
"I try to anticipate change by watching industry trends and monitoring our customer feedback. We are only as successful as our clients perceive that we are."
Zarna shows compassion about the impact of change on others: "I think it’s important to show empathy to those around you. Everyone reacts to change in their own way and we need to be sensitive to that. As trainers, we appreciate that people have different learning styles. In the same way, we all have different working styles, and we should always appreciate that."
